Playing Catch Up: Kate graduates from Elementary School!

Kate pretty much rocked 5th grade.  I am so  proud but I don't think I can take much credit.  She has been doing her own homework without asking for any help since Kindergarten.  She's just sweet and smart.  She came that way.  I'm hoping I don't mess her up too much. :)

For the record, she walked away with every award she could possibly earn from Elementary school.  She received the Presidential gold award for academic excellence, The Great American Award, The Role Model Award (She was awarded this by her teacher.  She was the only one in her class to get this award.)  and the high honor roll distinction for straight A's.  The only award she didn't get was perfect attendance.  I'm so disappointed in her.  Ha. Ha.  :)

I can't wait to see what she does in Middle School.

Playing Catch up: Watch out 3rd grade--here comes Jackson!

Jackson and Mrs. Skarda.

Playing Catch up: Ella graduates from 3rd grade

Straight A's all year long = Award and Medal.  Go Ella!

The last day of school and of third grade with Miss Kelly.

Playing Catch up: Kate's 5th grade dance.

First of all, is 5th grade really old enough to have a dance?  I don't think so.   Second of all, if the theme is Rock and Roll why were girls in strapless prom dresses and why did their mother's take them to have their hair and nails done?

I had to pick Kate up a little bit early and I walked in to crazy loud music, giggling girls and awkward boys and I thought, "Oh, CRAP not this AGAIN."  I'm not ready for this phase in Kate's life and for the record I protest!  I really, really do!  Where did the barbie days go???  Oh, yeah and the worst part is that Kate had a fantastic time.

Playing Catch up: Memorial Day

Playing Catch up: Mary Poppins

I took the girls to Mary Poppins at the new Reynolds center.  It was amazing!  We had such a good time.  It was kind of an adventure because we sat so far up.  It scared us all a little but as soon as the show started we were fine.

Playing Catch Up: Max Graduates from 2 Preschools!

Max and his best buddy, Bodey.

Hawaii is still fun--in case you were wondering.

Cliff jumping at Venus pools.  Always a favorite.

Jackson--the bravest little dude in the world.    This jump is so high that when we took a friend and his son with us-- the friend told Jackson that if he would jump off it then he would too.  Little did our friend know, that Jackson was such a crazy kid.  Jackson didn't even hesitate-- he just ran and jumped right off as soon as we got there.  Our friend was shocked!  I don't think he was very excited about having to jump off.    Ha. Ha.  Never, ever make a bravery bet with Jackson.

Max was super excited to hike the Pipiwai trail to see a big waterfall.

Kate can paddle board better than me!

Jackson can, too.  Okay, so almost everyone at the beach that day can paddle board better that I can.

We decided to buy a few more chicks to add to our hen house.   We've learned you can't have enough fresh eggs.

A little hike and snorkel adventure we did past pocket red sand beach.

Fagan's cross.

Pizza night with the hippies.  It was an eye-opener for the kids. "What's that smell, Mom?"  They also learned some fun hula hoop tricks--and the pizza wasn't bad either.  We walked back home under a sky full of stars.

All from our property!!!!

We had an unwanted guest for a few nights.  He thought he should eat our papaya and poop all over our house and chew our screens.  We thought he might enjoy a nice permanent stay in rat heaven--so we sent him there.

If middle school doesn't work out, we thought we could get Kate a job at the circus as a bearded lady.

We weren't eaten by Sharks but we did have fun learning about them at the Maui Ocean Center.
